Game 3: Delaware vs. Drexel

> Live on-location in Richmond, VA at the CAA Tournament

And we have a new leader for best pep band in the CAA! With more than a half hour until tip off of its match up with Drexel, the Delaware pep band was out here rocking the now nearly empty Richmond Coliseum. They are loud, they are boisterous, and they have great taste in music!

I’m not anticipating a large crowd for this game with both teams from further north, but that doesn’t mean it won’t be a good one. The man to keep an eye on is Drexel’s Frank Elegar. The senior center has had a solid season posting averages of 13.9 points, 8.2 rebounds and 2 blocks. While those numbers don’t seem to scream out at you, the two game averages of 27.5 points and 14 rebounds versus Delaware this year should (for the record the two teams have split this season). The Fighting Blue Hens have clearly struggled against the 6’9” Bronx native.

Delaware brings a fairly balanced attack. Herb Courtney, Marc Egerson and Alphonso Dawson all average double figures in scoring, with the former two grabbing more than 6 rebounds per game as well. Don’t forget about tiny sophomore guard Brian Johnson who comes in averaging 9.7 points while handing out more than 5 assists per game.

This game has the makings of being a fantastic 7 vs. 10 match up, but it will have a tough act to follow after what William & Mary and Georgia State did on this floor just a couple of hours ago!

PS: I’ve decided that Drexel’s warm ups look exactly like West Virginia’s. Should this have any effect on the game, I will let you know. Sixteen minutes until tip, I’ll catch up with you later in the first half!
