Game 4 Final: Northeastern 73 - James Madison 55

> Live on-location in Richmond, VA at the CAA Tournament

Well if the first ten minutes of the second half were a see-saw battle, then Northeastern gained 50 pounds and made it a one-sided affair in the last ten minutes. A trio of threes and a big alley oop from Nkem Ojougboh keyed a surge by the Huskies that left them standing atop a 73-55 win.

While they had been raucous all game long, the James Madison pep band fell silent aside from a few members too proud to go out quietly. Although by the end of the contest their voices had become hoarse and weak. The fans futile attempts to create noise was mirrored by the dejected looks across the faces of those sitting on the Dukes’ bench.

Northeastern though has earned themselves a shot at third-seeded George Mason in tomorrow’s quarterfinals after shooting a stellar 52% from the field and an equally impressive 8-17 from beyond the arc. Manny Adako who put in a strong performance for the Huskies is currently to my left being interviewed on a post game radio show, I can only assume this is a Northeastern station. Whatever the station may be, Adako and his teammates have at least one more night in Richmond before returning to the frigid conditions of Boston.

It has been a long (and that is an understatement) day for me here at the Richmond Coliseum, but an exciting one. Towson, William & Mary, Delaware and Northeastern all live to fight another day and are one step closer to achieving the dream of earning an NCAA Tournament automatic bid. Things will get tougher for the victors though as they will take on the top four seeds from the CAA tomorrow in another quadruple-header for the CAA. That’s all for me here tonight, check back later as I’ll post further comments and news from the day when I get back to my hotel. Here’s to signing off for night 1!
