Game 4: Northeastern vs. James Madison - First Half Update

> Live on-location in Richmond, VA at the CAA Tournament

I keep forgetting that just because I’m tired from blogging since before noon that not everyone else is going to be as well. JMU and Northeastern have certainly shown sitting around all day waiting for their late game has not tired them out, not by any means. The pace has been torrid, yet it hasn’t yielded a high scoring contest. Turnovers have kept point totals from soaring in the early going despite hot shooting by Northeastern (6-9 in the first 8 minutes), but still the early part of this game has been the boost of caffeine I needed here at the end of my long day.

Of course naturally as is always the case, the Huskies decide to go 0 for their next 9 in the games next 4 minutes. JMU though has picked up their play with some wheeling and dealing on the inside by Abdulai Jalloh, so now at the 7:24 mark Northeastern is holding onto an 18-16 lead, desperately trying to end their now 5 minute-plus scoring droubt.

A couple of observations and random thoughts. The JMU pep band makes strange yelping noises whenever the Huskies have the ball, making them sound collectively like a pack of hyenas. So far I can’t tell if this has had much effect since NU has been both hot and cold shooting the ball. Also I’ve decided to nickname JMU’s 6’7” 270 pound Dazzmond Thornton “The Big Rocky” because he hails from Denver. Back for more at the half!
