Game 7: UNC-Wilmington vs. Delaware
> Live on-location in Richmond, VA at the CAA Tournament
This should be an interesting match up in the 2 vs. 7 game, and a definite possibility for a legitimate upset. UD and UNCW have only met one time this season with Delaware squeaking by 68-67 at home. The Seahawks cost themselves in that game, they led in every single statistical category accept for turnovers, where they had 11 more than the Blue Hens.
In order to come away with the win today Delaware is going to need another strong shooting performance like yesterday. The Hens shot 45% from the field and placed four players in double figures, including Marc Egerson and Herb Courtney who each just missed out on double-doubles.
Wilmington is also a balanced scoring team, but they bring a little more firepower than Delaware does. The Seahawks shoot over 47% from the field and have four players averaging over 12 points a night. Solid senior guard T.J. Carter could be handful for the Hens. He comes in averaging 16.2 points, 5.7 rebounds (impressive for a 6’3” player) and 4.3 assists. Equally hard to handle though will be big 6’10” 265 pound center Vladimir Kuljanin. The senior has essentially averaged a double-double this season with 12.8 points and 9.9 rebounds. He was held to just 8 points the last time these two teams met though.
This place sure emptied out after our last game though. I guess it should be expected with two out of state schools competing in this one, George Mason better travel big in the nightcap though. Also, I think UNCW gets the award for best color of the tournament. I love their aqua colored uniforms. Just over twenty minutes until tip-off, I’ll catch you later in the half!
