Let the ballgames begin...
We're well under 12 hours until the first pitch of the 2007 NCAA Regionals will be tossed out. If you're stuck at the office - or elsewhere - be sure to check out our complete listing of games for Friday (and the rest of the weekend) that includes links to live TV, video, audio, and stats on all the Regional games. You might be interested in the staff predictions as well if you haven't seen those yet.
Looking briefly towards Friday's early part of the schedule, the (2) Miami/(3) Louisville game in Columbia, MO looks especially interesting. The 'Canes are always ready come postseason play, but this year's Cardinal team has won 40 games and is well deserving of their at-large bid. (2) Arizona/(3) Oral Roberts in Wichita, (2) NC State/(3) Charlotte in Columbia, SC, and (2) Creighton/(3) Oklahoma State in Fayetteville all look like excellent matchups as well. All of those teams just listed are capable of making runs this weekend and threatening the homestanding top seeds.
Looking for a #1 over #4 upset on Friday? Keep an eye on New Orleans taking on Wichita State. The Privateers have - count 'em with me - five players who have 11 or more homeruns this year!
