Georgia State vs. William & Mary: Halftime Update

> Live on-location in Richmond, VA at the CAA Tournament

We’ve got a good one on our hands with Georgia State leading 31-25 after 20 minutes. The Panthers relied on their athleticism and the hot shooting of Leonard Mendez (11 points) in the first half. GSU just seemed to be going after it more on the offensive end, especially on the boards where they currently hold the advantage.

W&M is a more disciplined team, and while they can get out and run in the open floor, have relied on good ball movement in the half court set to score their points. It’s no surprise that all five starters have scored, this is a staple of the Tribe’s style of play.

I’m hoping that both teams will come out hot in the second half so that they can warm up this building. Apparently someone working on the Richmond Coliseum staff this morning decided that freezing conditions would be best for a basketball game. I on the other hand, having not brought a jacket with me since I was planning on staying indoors all day, where it is warm, am now stuck trying to type as much as I can in order to keep my fingers from freezing.

Old Dominion is in the building as the Monarchs will be taking on the winner of this game tomorrow afternoon. ODU drew the 4 seed after going 11-7 in CAA play this season and 17-14 overall.

Both teams are back out on the floor, W&M was out for a while shooting around, while Georgia State got maybe two minutes at most of warm up time after the half, we’ll see if that has any effect on things in the second half.
