Clemson 5, Mississippi St. 2, after five and a half

The Tigers get the leadoff hitter on with a walk, then D'Alessio hits a bomb to right for his 17th homer of the season. MSU takes out Crosswhite, because he was beginning to labor physically and had a rising pitch count, and replaced him with Jesse Carver. Carver promptly gave up a home run to Harbin, and then a single to the next hitter.

But, John Lalor came in and stopped any further damage, and that could loom large with the meat of Mississippi St.'s order coming up.

And, while I'm typing this, MSU has put together a double by McCaskill and a single by Ed Easley to make it 5-3.
