(3) Louisville 5, (2) Georgia Tech 8 -- FINAL

> Live on-location in Athens, GA at the Athens Regional Baseball Tournament

Georgia Tech scored two in the bottom of the 6th to regain the lead for good at 4-3 on an error by Louisville second baseman Justin McClanahan, which by the way would have ended the inning. Instead 2 runs scored and the Jackets then cruised to the victory 8-5 in Game 2 of the Athens Regional. The Yellow Jackets were paced by catcher Jason Haniger's 3 for 4 night including a 2 run shot in the 7th.

Louisville catcher Jeff Arnold let the Cardinals with a 3 for 4 day with two doubles. McClanahan (3 for 4 as well) blasted a game tying 2 run homer in the top of the 6th and Chris Dominguez followed with a solo shot of his own to give the Cardinals their only lead of the evening.

Andrew Robinson (4-2) picked up the win in relief of starter David Duncan. Justin Marks was saddled with the loss. Brad Rulon picked up his 6th save of the season.

Tomorrow's schedule:

3 p.m. - Georgia vs. Louisville
7 p.m. - Georgia Tech vs. Lipscomb

(4) Lipscomb 10, (1) Georgia 7 -- FINAL

> Live on-location in Athens, GA at the Athens Regional Baseball Tournament

Rex Brothers pitched 5 1/3 innings for Lipscomb to lead the Bison to an upset of #1 seed (national #8 seed) Georgia by a score of 10-7. Brothers tossed 107 pitches giving up 6 runs (2 earned) on 9 hits, 4 walks, and 3 strikeouts. He was helped by fellow teammate Ryan Wilkins, whose 5th inning 2 run HR gave the Bison an 8-4 lead. Three batters prior to Wilkins blast, Blake Bratcher singled in two runs to make it a 6-4 lead and one that the Bison would not relinquish the rest of the way. Bratcher was 2 for 4 with 3 RBIs and a 2 run shot of his own in the 3rd.

For UGA, Ryan Peisel led the way, going 3 for 5 with a 2 run HR and a stolen base. The Dogs had their opportunities. In the first they left the bases loaded after scoring 4 unearned runs to take a 4-1 lead...only to see the Bison storm back with 7 unanswered. Georgia also had a chance in the 8th, runners were on 1st and 2nd with 1 out, the go ahead run at the plate in Rich Poythress. Poythress grounds sharply to the pitcher who starts the inning ending double play to leave the game at 9-7 Lipscomb.

Brothers (4-5) picked up the win, while Stephen Dodson (5-4, 4 2/3 ip, 8 runs (all earned), 2 BB, 3 K) was saddled with the loss and Kyle Tognazzini picked up his 4th save.

I'm heading back to watch the Louisville-Georgia Tech game and will post later this evening as I could not get connected at the ball park!!

Heading over to the ballpark now for the 3 p.m. start to the Lipscomb vs. Georgia matchup on Day 1 here in Athens. Hopefully, I will have wireless connectivity when I get to the ballpark. It looked like the wireless network existed over Foley Field. I will keep everyone updated, if I do have connectivity.
