Game 1 Final: Towson 81 - Hofstra 66

> Live on-location in Richmond, VA at the CAA Tournament

Sorry for the delay in a final report, I just stepped out of the post game press conference for both teams.

Despite cutting the deficit all the way to three points midway through the second half, Hofstra couldn’t keep the pressure on Towson and eventually fell by 15. Antoine Agudio hit the final two shots of his career, a couple of open three-pointers, and finished with a game high 27.

For Towson Georgetown transfer Josh Thornton led the way with 22 points, and Tony Durant added 20. C.C. Williams had an equally impressive 14 points, 5 assists and 6 steals. The Tigers prize for winning their first round game: a match up with #1 seed VCU tomorrow afternoon.

Of interesting note from both pep bands: the Towson band members would hold up yellow fan towels whenever the Tigers were at the free throw line. Perhaps the yellow made them feel at home. As for Hofstra, one member of their band took to shouting out “sausage” whenever a Towson player was at the free throw line.

Check back later tonight for more thoughts and news from this game! Now on to William & Mary vs. Georgia State!
