Gut-wrenching loss for Michigan.

Michigan's Zach Putnam had a no-hitter going for 8.2 innings, but the one hit he gave up was the one that cost the Wolverines dearly. After giving up a walk to lead off the ninth to Steve Santschi, who moved to second on a bunt, Putnam allowed his first and only hit of the game with two outs, an RBI single by Joey Wong.

That would be the only run of the game, as Michigan got a runner on second in the ninth but couldn't get him home. The Beavers are one win away from their third straight trip to Omaha.

Louisville, meanwhile, is having no problem putting up runs against Oklahoma State today. It's now 16-2 Louisville after five innings. After a five-run fourth, the Cardinals tacked on four more in the fifth, using four hits, a sac fly, and a wild pitch to get their runs. Louisville has scored in every inning so far. This one's looking a lot like their title game with Missouri last Monday, when they rolled to a 16-6 win. They've already matched that mark in five innings, and with the way OSU is pitching, should easily top it.
