Hofstra vs Towson: Halftime Update
> Live on-location in Richmond, VA at the CAA Tournament
Well as another writer on press row mumbled a few moments ago, Hofstra certainly picked the worst possible time to have their worst have of the season. The Pride trail 31-13 at the half after shooting 4-23 from the field and turning the ball over 8 times. The fact that they are only down 18 at this point is quite remarkable in itself.
Antoine Agudio has been non-existent, having hit one shot and struggling tremendously with Towson’s 1-3-1 trap defense which the Tigers have run to perfection. The pressure put on by 4th year Towson coach Pat Kennedy has yielded 5 steals and 5 blocks, but interestingly no fast break points.
Josh Thornton and Jonathan Pease have led the way for the Tigers, each putting up 9 points thus far. Pease has tied his season average already, having gone 3-4 on perimeter shots thanks to great ball movement by the Tigers. Thornton has been a little more dynamic, throwing down an impressive dunk in transition and letting the crowd here it as he ran back down the floor.
With this game having been so lopsided thus far, it is fair to say that the highlight of my day to this point has been the turkey sandwich I had in the media room prior to this game starting. Hofstra is back out on the floor though and looking fired up as they go through their shoot around. We’ll see if the Pride can get back into this thing, or if their season will end in blowout fashion.
