Quick Look at the Bubble

> Live on-location in Atlanta, GA at the SEC Tournament

While I've got some free time, I thought I could update you real quick on the Bubble Picture as of right now. Here's the teams I KNOW will be in, even if they lose in the first round of their conference tournament.

ACC- Duke, North Carolina, Clemson, Miami
Big Ten- Indiana, Michigan State, Purdue, Wisconsin
Big 12- Kansas, Texas, Oklahoma, Baylor, Kansas State, Texas A&M
Big East- Georgetown, Louisville, Connecticut, Marquette, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, West Virginia
Pac 10- UCLA, Stanford, Washington State, USC
SEC- Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, Arkansas, Kentucky
Non BCS- BYU, Memphis, Xavier, St. Mary's, Gonzaga

Additionally, twelve mid-majors have claimed their league's automatic bids:
Drake, Cornell, Winthrop, Austin Peay, Belmont, George Mason, Siena, Davidson, San Diego, Western Kentucky, Oral Roberts, Butler

This means there are 47 teams that will be in the tournament already.
There are also 19 more automatic bids to hand out.
Out of those 19, 9 of them look to be taken by teams that are already in the tournament (ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, Big East, Pac 10, SEC, Atlantic 10, Mountain West, and Conference USA).
This means we will only add ten to 47 to give us 57 teams IN the tournament, leaving the magic number at 8 teams from the bubble that we can put in.

On the Bubble:
UNLV
Arizona State
Villanova
Arizona
South Alabama
Massachusettes
Illinois State
Ohio State
Oregon
New Mexico
VCU
Mississippi
Dayton
St. Josephs
UAB
Virginia Tech
Temple
Maryland
Florida
Syracuse

These teams are in order of their likelihood of making the NCAA Tournament.
As conference tournaments play on, I will continue to update this list.

As I type, Villanova-Syracuse goes final, with Villanova winning by double digits.
This moves Villanova virtually in and Syracuse definitely out.
