#1 in serious trouble...

#1 ranked and overall top national seed Vandy is staring defeat squarely in the eye.

The Commodores are trailing Michigan 3-1 in the top of the 8th inning.

Vandy took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 5th on a solo homer by Parker Hanks, but Michigan answered immediately in the top of the sixth. With the bases loaded, first baseman Nate Recknagel laced a double to right center to clear the bags and give the Wolverines the lead.

Vandy's out-hitting Michigan 6-5, but have left runners in scoring position in the last two innings.

Stay tuned - an upset is brewing. Keep in mind though that the 'Dores have been known to make some late runs this year, including in the SEC tourney against Ole Miss, when they battled back from deficits in the late innings twice to win in extras.
