#1 Vandy goes down to Michigan, 4-3.

Flaherty strikes out to end the game. Big win for Michigan. The Wolverines need only one win to advance, and Vandy has to beat Austin Peay tomorrow, then beat Michigan twice if they want to avoid being the first #1 national seed to not advance out of the regionals.

In the other late games, UCLA beat Illinois-Chicago 3-1 in the winner's bracket in Long Beach, #5 national seed Arizona St. beat #2 seed UC-Riverside 9-2 in their winner's bracket game in Tempe, and #2 national seed Rice beat TCU 6-3.

In the last game still going on, CS-Fullerton is beating Fresno St. 6-1 in the bottom of the sixth.

Here's an interesting note: Only six of 14 #1 seeds have started 2-0. South Carolina and Coastal Carolina's regionals were both rained out today, but both have tough games, so that number could change even more.
