Fullerton routs UCLA to go up 1-0.

Cal St. Fullerton got big-time hitting performances from John Curtis (3 for 5, HR, 2 RBI) and Evan McArthur (3 for 3, 3 RBI, 3 runs scored), and a complete-game, seven strikeout performance from Wes Roemer to defeat UCLA 12-2 in the first game of the super regional in Fullerton.

Roemer pitched like the All-American from last year to pick up his 11th win of the season.

South Carolina and North Carolina's game was suspended due to lightning, and will resume tomorrow afternoon with the Gamecocks up 8-3 and leading off the bottom of the 7th.

In Tempe, it's been a pitcher's duel so far, and Ole Miss is out on top against host and #5 national seed Arizona St. 1-0 in the bottom of the sixth. Ole Miss' Will Kline has held the powerful Sun Devils lineup to only four hits so far, but ASU's still very much in it, because Mike Leake has given up only one run despite allowing ten hits in six innings. All those wasted baserunners for the Rebels might loom large in the end.

Rice became the second team to punch their ticket to Omaha, and booked their second straight trip there with a 5-2 win over Texas A&M. Rice's Matt Langwell started and had a quality performance, giving up only one run on four hits and striking out seven in 6.1 innings. Cole St. Clair came in and pitched the final 2.2 innings and gave up only two hits, one of which was a solo homer in the eighth inning.
