MSU to Omaha, Cowboys to play another day...

Mississippi State finished off Clemson in just two games, sending the Tigers home after an 8-5 victory that sends the Bulldogs to Omaha. The Friday crowd set a Super Regional record, and the Bulldog fans promptly broke it again Saturday, packing nearly 14,000 into the stadium to see the team win their way to Rosenblatt.

In Louisville meanwhile, Oklahoma State went into extras with the hometown Cardinals, got a run in the top of the 12th, and then held on for the 3-2 win, forcing a deciding game 3 on Sunday.

The opener in Wichita, meanwhile, was a pitchers' duel. No one put a run on the board until the top of the eighth when UC Irvine took a 1-0 lead, and that was enough to put the Anteaters up a game to none in the series. Game two is Sunday.

Elsewhere, the opener between Michigan and Oregon State was rained out, while three additional evening games are now underway. Rice is up 3-1 on Texas A&M in the fifth with the Aggies needing a win to force game three. In Chapel Hill, South Carolina is off to a good start in their effort to force a third game as they plated 3 runs in the first and are leading 3-1 in the 2nd. It's also 3-1 in Fullerton, as the Titans have taken the early lead over UCLA in the opening game of that series.

Mississippi and Arizona get underway at 8PM central out west.
