Game 8: George Mason vs. Northeastern - First Half Update

> Live on-location in Richmond, VA at the CAA Tournament

Maybe it’s because he looks so stoic while he’s coaching, maybe it’s because he was the central character in a book chronicling the success of the CAA, or maybe its because he is a Final Four coach, whatever it is, there is something about Jim Larranaga that separates him from every other coach at this tournament. Just watching him roam the sidelines is an experience in itself. On to the game though…

This has been a scappy one to begin with. George Mason got Will Thomas going early, dropping in five points on a drop step, a free throw and a two-handed thunder dunk. Since then it’s been pretty even between the two teams with the Patriots holding a 17-13 lead at the 7:43 mark.

Northeastern has being going inside as too, and Manny Adako has muscled his was to six points. Sharp shooter Matt Janning had a nice pull up three as well.

One more comment on the Mason pep band. Their director is wearing an all white suit, aviator sunglasses, and wielding a green scepter. Best costume ever. Period.

Also for those of you keeping track at home, I’m in my tenth hour of blogging, hope you’re enjoying!
