Early start to a long (and potentially wet) day...
Thanks to rain yesterday, games in Myrtle Beach and Columbia, SC will get underway this morning at 10:00 AM central time. Three games are scheduled to take place at both of those sites before the day is done.
I don't know the exact stats, but getting off to a 2-0 start in regional play is the key to success, as all college baseball fans know. Here's a look at the fourteen teams (minus Myrtle Beach and Columbia, SC) who are in that driver's seat heading into today, needing to win just one of the next two games to advance to the Supers:
(1) Virginia, (1) Arizona State, (1) Mississippi, (1) Rice, (1) Missouri, (1) North Carolina, (2) Michigan, (2) UCLA, (2) Cal State-Fullerton, (2) Arizona, (2) UC Irvine, (2) LA-Lafayette, (2) Mississippi State, (3) Oklahoma State
Weather still looks to be a big factor today in Myrtle Beach and Columbia, SC, as well as Chapel Hill and Charlottesville. At this point, the Charlottesville site looks to be in the most danger.
