The runs are coming early in Starkville. Clemson countered MSU's first-inning run with two of their own. But, that lead didn't last long. MSU has put four runs on the board in the top of the second to take a 5-2 lead.
Clemson starter David Kopp only makes it through 1.2 innings. For many, it might be a surprise that MSU's gotten to Clemson's two studs on consecutive days, but the Bulldodgs have. Kopp allowed five runs on five hits, and walked two in his short stint. Ryan Hinson has been brought in to slow the MSU bats down. That move shows just how big this one game is, considering Hinson is a regular #3 starter. But, you have to win game 2 to get to game 3.
In Louisville, Oklahoma St. has finally put up their first run of the weekend, and they take the lead with it. Corey Brown just hit his team-leading 22nd homer of the season to put the Cowboys up 1-0 in the top of the 4th.
In Wichita, they're scoreless in the bottom of the third. Irvine has two hits, both by leadoff hitter Taylor Holliday, who's been stranded on third (in the first) and second (in the third). Wichita St. has one.
