Drake leads ISU 40-19 at half

> Live on-location in St. Louis, Missouri at the MVC Tournament

Illinois State got the start it wanted, dominating defensively and efficiently scoring on the offensive end. Unfortunately, after a 9-4 start, everything completely fell apart.

Drake's coach Keno Davis called a timeout down 9-4 early, and after the two battled back and forth for an 18-17 score, Drake went on a complete tear.

I mean a COMPLETE tear. A 19-0 run gave the Buldogs a 37-17 lead, and heading into the half they now lead 40-19.

Drake could not penetrate ISU's defense at all early on, but Adam Emmenecker was able to beat his man off the dribble repeatedly and find teammates on the perimeter. Drake wasn't shooting threes early, and weren't playing their game offensively, but the Bulldogs then began to heat up. On the flip side, Illinois State went completely cold, every call seemed to go against it, and the Redbirds now find themselves in a huge hole at halftime.

I'll try to get another blog in after the game but I'll most likely be heading to press conferences and locker rooms. Check back in later today for my analysis of the entire game!
