Game 9: Semifinals - VCU vs. William & Mary - First Half Update
> Live on-location in Richmond, VA at the CAA Tournament
So far this game has lived up to my expectations. At the 7:45 mark VCU leads it 19-13, but William & Mary is keeping the pressure on. At this point the Ram’s athleticism is just overmatching the Tribe. VCU’s guards have been quicker to lose balls, and they have had several nice offensive rebounds.
Eric Maynor is playing his usual game, hitting a nice pull up jumper in transition and showing stellar court vision as always. The Larry Sanders watch currently stands at one block, a couple of rebounds and one monster jam over Peter Stein that came with a foul as well. Sanders would miss the free throw. Jamal Shuler looks like he found his shooting stroke again too; he hit a nice corner three pointer and a long two.
The arena is as packed as I have seen it this weekend with both teams having a large support group. The William & Mary fans have definitely been more belligerent to the officials at this point with more foul calls going against the Tribe. One red headed, bearded Tribe supporter in particular has already practically blown out his vocal cords screaming more profanities than I’ve heard since the last time I watched “The Departed”. He actually just referred to a call as “unconstitutional”, this guy is a champ.
Well back to the game, I’ll see you all at the half.
